Each workshop is mapped with the Australian Blueprint for Career Development, ensuring participants build practical, transferable skills that meet national career meducation standards.

Success story: Hope's journey
Hope Carne, a Year 11 student, is breaking barriers as one of only six women to undertake the Automotive Electrical course at Canberra Institute of Technology in 21 years. Supported by the ACT Education Directorate’s Head Start program and Mas National, she balances her studies with an apprenticeship at Dyno Tune, where her enthusiasm and skills have earned her a place in a male-dominated field.

Steven Walton, once uncertain about his future, is now Australia’s leading fit out apprentice. Employed by The Winkle Group, he won the National Apprentice of the Year award from the Interior Fitout Association. Initially hesitant about pursuing a trade, Steven found his passion during work experience. Supported by Mas National, he’s shown exceptional skill and dedication. His employer and industry leaders praise his positive attitude and long-term vision. As he completes his apprenticeship, Steven hopes to inspire others to pursue trades with dedication and support.

Success story: Brydie's journey
Brydie Milligan, a young woman, boldly pursued a career as a Metal Fabricator apprentice in 2020, following in her father’s footsteps. Despite the male-dominated nature of the industry, Brydie was undeterred and received crucial support from her colleagues and the Make it Metal team. Her employer, Rick Mckenny, praised her contribution to the team, and Brydie herself has grown in confidence and skills. With half of her apprenticeship completed, she looks forward to qualifying and exploring her newfound abilities, inspiring other women to consider careers in the trades industry.
